John Pierre (JP) Alouan

Jean-Pierre (John) Alouan was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He and his family moved to Sweden towards the end of 2015 and his two sons attend ISH, the eldest representing ISH in 2016 and 2017 with the relay team at the local swimming carnival and contributing to a gold medal win each year.

Professionally, John benefited at the beginning of his career from a broad exposure to various industries in his role as a Systems Analyst & Designer and Applications Programmer; he later chose to specialise in Banking & Finance and has worked in the industry for 21 years, 17 of which in a financial services business based in Sydney that he established and has operated since 1999.

John’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance major with Law sub-major), Master of Applied Finance, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance, an area in which he has a strong interest.

John is a Fellow of FINSIA, (Financial Services Institute of Australasia), a Fellow of AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors), a Chartered Company Secretary (Member of the Governance Institute of Australia and The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators UK), he is also an Accredited Expert Witness and has prepared Expert Evidence for the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Active as a Mentor with the UTS Graduate School of Business and Monash University’s Mentor and Internship Programs, John’s other community involvements include serving as a Justice of the Peace (NSW), serving on the Executive Committee of the Australian association of an international charitable organisation (2009-2016), and is involved in charitable works via Malteserhjälpen across the five Nordic countries.

John’s personal interests include collecting wine and antique bank notes, competitive pistol shooting, the martial arts of Karate and Aikido, and reading history. In his earlier years, John received various awards from the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia and was a Certified Life Saving Instructor, he played senior grade Australian Football with the St. George Australian Football Club and presently enjoys playing the odd game for Helsingborg Saints in the Dansk Australsk Fodbold Liga (Danish Australian Football League).

Understanding the significance of ISH PTA’s historical and ongoing contributions to the school and for the benefit of the children, John would like to build a larger and stronger ISH PTA Board.
