Success Stories

The PTA is very proud of its record in making substantial financial contributions
to improve the school’s physical environment, enhance the students’ school experience
and assist in the purchase of educational “extras”.

In the previous years, for example, we have been able to pay
approximately 45,000 SEK towards the purchase of up-to-the-minute
music software and hardware which has completely changed the way
that our students are able to learn and develop
their music skills and bring ISH facilities right up to date.

We have also made a large contribution to the DP Science Department,
furnishing and decoration of the MYP student lounge, helped pay towards
the DJ for the annual “Spring Formal” dance, fund prizes for students’
World Book Day” costumes, assist in the purchase of
furnishings and books for the school library, support our graduating students by
paying for decorations and refreshments on their graduation
(“Studenten”) day, as well as fulfilling our annual commitment
to provide 75 SEK per student for class trips.

All this is achieved by a lot of hard work (and fun!) organising a variety of
fundraising activities throughout the school year.
But the voluntary donations we collect in August/September
(and at any time in the school year!)
provide a much-needed base for the rest of the year and
we very much encourage and welcome yours!

This system of donations and fundraising is perhaps not familiar
in the Swedish school culture, but international and returning families
will recognise the activities of a PTA from their experiences around the world,
and understand just how much a school can benefit from this extra source of funding.

The recommended donation for the current school year is
300 SEK per student or 500 SEK for families with more than 1 student at the school.
This can be paid directly to the PTA by using
Bankgiro number 5605-0214
(please add your children’s name and grade as a reference).

You can also support the PTA by volunteering to become a
Class Parent, PTA Board Member
or a PTA Volunteer
who can help at one-off events.

Thank you very much!

We wish you and your children a wonderful year at the International School of Helsingborg.
